Consequences of Wrong Selection of Rubber Expansion Joints

Rubber Expansion Joints are also called flexible rubber joints, rubber flexible connectors, rubber shock absorbers, rubber shock absorber hoses, widely installed in piping. With the wide spread use of rubber joint, there have been some problems caused by wrong selection, damaging the rubber joint quality.

1. Leakage: leakage is mainly caused by nonstandard installation. During installation, the screws must be  fastened diagonally, otherwise there will be a partial seal resulting in leaks.

2. Pulling out from position: happens when the actual stretch exceed the allowable elongation ranges. Please use double sphere rubber joint instead or install control unit to the rubber joint.

3. Soak deformation: happens when ordinary rubber joints installed in oil pipeline. Please use oil-resistant rubber joints instead.

4. Size deformation: caused by strong distortions of pipeline. Some pipelines are installed obliquely. some distortions occur in fluid conveying which common rubber joint cann't work well. Please change for high pressure resistance rubber joints instead.
