Tips for Rubber Expansion Joints Usage and Maintenance

Rubber flexible joint in use should try to avoid sunlight. Working pressure should be within design pressure range in most of the time. Long-time stretch or contraction will generate plastic deformation, making a negative impact on mechanical physical performance of rubber joint. Consequently the concentration of stress will lead to sudden tearing failure.

If possible, acid resistant rubber bellows and Alkali resistant rubber joint should be used for single medium only, especially in chemical pipelines. Rubber flexible joints produced by our company are corrosion resistant to a certain extent, but need to be PTFE lined for highly corrosive pipelines to increase service life.

Common rubber bellows working temperature range is -20 ℃~150 ℃, not suitable for extreme environments. Rubber flexible joints installed underground should be armored with protective casing to prevent crushes. Avoid sharp objects and welding slag when installing the bellows sphere.
